Always the way. Something lets go when you are takeing it easy, In hindsite though, if you were into it and it let go, piston to Valve, that engine would be lunched. there is a chance of survival. Slim, but its there.

thought about another engine and options, or still waiting to see how terminal this one is?
still waiting on joes diagnosis at crescent motorsport to see how much is salvagable and what has been damaged.. wouldnt mind either a new car.. rebuild and turbo the old engine or an AU i6 conversion... choices choices... HHMM

Shame to hear matt. My EL let itself go while taking it easy.

Lets hope it's a cheap and quick fix.

Go the XR6HP engine. Take a look at what OED666 has done with his if you need anymore reasons.

s**t dude, sorry top hear. haven't been on hear for a while now and then to read this is heart aching. oh well, make her turbo friendly and go from there. if your not needing that 70mm tb, I wouldn't mind a run with it. good luck getting her back on the road.

visited crescent motorsport today...

*too much compression... 10:3
*the head was shaved at a very slight angle.. (back four cylinders had more compression then the front two  )
*possibly a bad batch of fuel..
*unichip tune had the engine on a "knifes edge"..
*detonation damaged the head gasket..

so getting a STAGE 3 head and a STAGE 3 cam!!!! CMS of course.. (site sponsor)..

will be a more torquey engine with this head.. and no detenation... will have less compression...
