Pretty sure BenJ has it mounted there... See his build thread (May be in his contents page, part of a brake down he had on the side of the road)... My new Bosch coil is in the factory spot... See my build thread (recent pages with the BBM install)...
Cheers, Tim

ok because today i have given it a go i have got the dizzy out , all the leads , also i had to take the air box and throttle body of due to my hands were to chubby to get in , but i can feel the coil in my hand and its a good feeling but i wish it was as simple as mounting it on the A/C
im working with my step dad who is really good with cars we just need a few little pointers |

only way you'll get that coil out is from under the car... Although with the dizzy out is may be more simple... With my arrangement I can now easily change the coil from the top of the engine bay (three belt set up with BBM and special mounting bracket)...
Did you need to lengthen the wiring Troy or was the extension harness long enough to reach the compressor? Cheers, Tim

Easy find if you just search for it...

TROYMAN wrote: i did extend mine, from memory it was about an extra 100-150mm Would that nearly be more difficult than just mounting it back in the factory spot? I lengthened mine with the manifold off when the new coil went on so I didn't need to run the patch harness... I reckon it'd be just as fiddly as changing the coil from under the car? It's easy access with a BBM... Cheers, Tim

no it was easy.. mine came with an extension cable that pluged straight into the loom.
i just had to extend the extension cable a little to reach the new coil location comfortably.. |

ah no worries... I apologise for any insensitivities then...
You can add the new one but the wiring still wont be long enough... Troy said he had to add in 100 - 150mm plus that harness... So you'll still need someone under the car to do the wiring... Leaving the old one there is no issue... EDIT- as Troy said... Just extend the extension... Genius... No wiring under the car now... New ones are a better design so wont crack across the top like the old ones did and then that enabled them to take in water and short out... Cheers, Tim

Ok cool thank you will be reading this thread with my step father tommorow
also we found ALOT of rust on the rotor button and under neath so i hope that was causing my misfires but im sure new leads, plus fuel pump + coil + complete dizzy should fix it if not injectords and fuel pressure reg and she will be as good as when she rolled out from the factory |
