i just thought i post something, is anyone was curious about them.
i decided to buy one of ebay for $20 and see what it would do.
i have a EFii Futura(auto), nothing special, with a mandrel bent 2.5".. thats it

my brother has a worked au
with pacemaker extractors,
K&N air filter plus xr intake,
superlow king springs,
18" sports low profile tyres,
shift kit (auto),
XR6 VCT ECU
ect

LOL I smashed him in a drag lastnight.. 5 car lengths at 160 kph.
now anyone who is skptical of these mods from what you've probably heard is true.
i drove 50-60 kms and used half a tank of fuel, but had a 40% power increase..
lol my s**t EF idles like a v8... but the ecu dosent like it..
so back to stock for me...
bottom line, if you want to smash someone at a drag just for fun and have alot of fuel..
the cold air intake chips are the biggest bang for buck i have seen, makes your car sound like you got the lumpiest cam on the market. cant go past it for a bit of fun... just ignore the black smoke coming out the tailpipe :-P if anyone wants i cant wack a movie up of the idle

lol mate, prepare to be bombarded with criticism. Take it from me mate, best to keep these kinds of things about drag racing and beating certain cars to yourself because you will just get blasted on here.

yeah i know, its not about being awesome, it is about pure facts. and knowing stuff.
figuring i would share an experience with people.
because in conversation if someone talks about one of these, you could simply
just tell them of my experience. now i only ran the chip for one day to test the increase.
and i dont have a dyno so i figure people that want to know the result will be smart enough to compare stats and make a judgment them selves.

while to you it seemed to have made a power difference, within a few days the ecu would have been busting its a** to correct the over rich fuel mixture, it would have ended up going like a dog, chewing heaps of fuel(as you have found) fouled the plugs and possably diluted the oil with fuel...

not an ideal power upgrade at all....

yeah i noticed most of the rich fuel mixture, but the funny thing was down the street when i dropped my gf of at work i stalled it... yeah i stalled an auto lol..
i'll be honest its a funny thing to do to a car you dont care about, but when i get my new one.
things will be done legit.. i was tossing up
BK MKII XR6/F6 like i could spend 30gs on a f6 or 19 on a non turbo and buy the mrs a s**t holden like she wants....
anyway, back on the subject, these chips are stupid, there is a reason why we have a temp sensor
and as you can see our engines are alot more powerful then the ecu gives it credit for, but in saying that the ECU generally works to everyones advantage.. and most stock falcons are not designed to be race cars.

I'm not sure where you did the "Poor Mans Dyno" as you put it...but coppers do go through forums and if you get busted don't act all surprised because you decided to fly at 160kph. But considering you are poor from the above statement, I assume you did it on the public roads...which is a big no no for you.

Also, I am not calling you an idiot because it's an EF...I called you an idiot because you are an idiot for bragging about dragging after putting on a resistor mod which you could have been bought for 20c at JayCar or something.
