Hi All

I have recently replaced my complete exhaust from headers right to the tip with a Hurricane 2.5inch system. So now the air is getting out of the engine quicker but i need to increase the air coming in. I have heard the SS induction growler kits are quite good as they are entire new unit? or should i use the big mouth kit which uses the existing air box.

I am just after some advice and possibly some pics of what other people on here have done in regards to CAI. I have NA 2006 BF SR Falcon Sedan.

Most appreciate the help and advice.

Cheers

Phil

you could always upgrade to an XR6T snorkel, and add the secondary XR6T intake, that would cost you about $100 or so....

or even cheaper, cut the front of your airbox out, fordmods style....

i couldnt justify spending $400 on a snorkel....

400 for a snorkel? does this include the whole air box? Tickford XR8 snorkels (without the wings) are 38 bucks from ford last time i bought one.

the ss inductions snorkel and airbox adaptor is about 350, and the growler is dearer again....

Yeah i found the growler kit for $470 delivered (ony 20 for postage) thats seems pretty cheap when the ss induction website says $600RRP. Yes the growler kit replaces the existing airbox with a pod filter in a box and biger piping etc

hi mate i put the growler cold induction on my ute and it was easy as to fit . took a little while for computer to adjust but it worked its self out, used to get a flat spot
i put pacemaker headers on 2.5 inch manta system, the complete package sounds great. the growler was the 1st thing i did and dam that made a great noise by its self, it just sucks

id go growler over big mouth any day

thanks mate, yeah i definitley want the growler, doesnt it cover the back of the headlight so you can't change the bulb unless you remove the box? Thats awesome if it made a sweet noise before the rest of the system mine already sounds sweet under acceleration, i can hear the extractors and cat sucking already. Yeah my computer is slowly adjusting to the zorst now so its getting better. i would probably get the CAI, then a tune (either new ecu or flash) still need to research all that though and then dyno results to see what im getting :D

I doubt it would cover the back of the headlight as thats where it would be picking up extra air from.

i dont have any pics of mine on hand

now it does sit behind the headlight and yes it is a pain if you need to change a headlight but hey how many times do you have to do that and its piss easy to remove
where it sits behind the headlight the top screws into the frame above the headlight but behind the headlight it is open to the air and goes straight into the the pod filter, you also fit an air deflection plate and refit the old snorkal

thanks for the info mate, lol youd be surprised how often i had to change mine, although i do have hid now so that should stop that being an issue, although i do need to replace the bulbs as one has changed colour, hmm will have to do this before installing the growler.
