Hi all my friend blew her transmission in her eb now it is a column shift can anyone tell me if a transmission out of a t bar auto will bolt into a car with a column shift?

as far as i know it should i have one out of a car that is column shift and it looks the same as a t bar one

there is a plate on the rhs of bell housing where the linkages attatch also the arm on the selecter switch needs to be changed so change bell housing etc hopes this helps

T-bar auto box should be fine .

also check the box linkage length,column is nice but has too many pivot points to wear out,gives you a bench seat.

Yeah it will work, just swap over all the linkages and the bellhousing, they're the same gearbox.

get a dipstick fitted if you can saves climbing underneath to fill trans I have one on my au 11

its a eb it has one on the original trans is it hard to fit it to the new trans?

sorry been away for a while not sure what size drill but make sure its greased up to collect alloy bits you will see the blank on the right side of auto as the eb auto has just above the pan then drill hole with pan off hope this helps

Just be aware that the while the EF/L auto will bolt up to the EA-D engines and vice versa, EF/L torque converters are NOT interchangeable with the EA-D trans, they have a different throat size. Just keep the correct converter with the correct trans and you'll be fine.

Sons car (EF) had a stuffed trans when we got it (hey it was cheap) and we bought another trans... We just had to drill 2 holes in the bellhousing to fit the cross brace for the Column auto...

Just drilled 1 hole bolted the plate on and drilled the other one... dam sight easier that removing the bellhousing. :D
