is there a noticable difference power wise between ef/el xr6 compression ratio and standard ef/el compression

power wise you wouldnt notice the difference..
according to the factory manual the std ef/el is 9.30:1 and the xr6 is 9.35:1.. which is bugger all really! |

also take into account that 95% of eseries heads have been machined for a new gasket, some of them a couple times !!

just by fitting an Au headgasket will raise comp to approx 9.8:1

wow you should be leaving those ecotecs behind bigtime, stock for stock you should be beating them

Somethings wrong there for sure, with all those mods, the car should be going fairly hard i would of thought, a lot harder than a stock v6 commy.
Have you had it on a dyno to see what power its making and if the afr's are okay? I wouldnt recommend bigger injectors either unless they are AU items. From factory they seem to run fairly rich. |

cam was dialed by joe from cms, we redialed a few times 2 get it perfect, injectors are off an au, i dynod the car awhile ago before manual conversion, the stg3 cms head and the new coil, pulled 117rwkw, oh and cam was slighly smaller

ACL Race series pistons come with a 5cc dish as apposed to stadard 8.5cc, raises comp to 9.6:1 from standard 9.3:1, if you combined that with a AU head gasket you would get around 10.1:1. thats assuming every thing is standard to start with, it doesnt take many cc to raise compression a few points.

And is the ignition timing still stock or has it been changed? (yes, i know it's an ef) Have you asked Joe what his thoughts on the matter are? Only because I know the majority of his cars (well those on here anyway) have been pulling good times and numbers...

i had a problem before, i had a tooth out on my aux shaft, me and joe tried getting it back into place with out taking timing cover off, then after figured out that it only worked with troy (green machine) becase his bottom chain guide was broken, so we made the hole bigger for the bracket bolt on the dizzy dummy buteven before it still didnt feel right, and after didnt feel like much difference, im considering get a new bottom end, buying a ACL race engine rebuild kit and rebuilding it
