Hi all, have a stock standard 93 eb falcon 6 cyl. In psi, what should the compression be? My readings got between 180 - 190 psi on all cylinders. Any advice / help muchly appreciated. Mick

well when i got my compression test done. the motor got 195 in all cylinders in the EL XR6 with roughly about 60,000kms on the motor but im not sure whats good or whats bad.

from the ford workshop manual it says 1010 kpa which =146.488 psi..

but i have seen higher readings than 146psi :?

Thanks for the replys. Ill do the test again and see if i get the same figures. 1010 kpa is what in bars?

As a rough guide, the lowest reading cylinder should be no less than 75% of the highest.

Redone the test and got the same results. Cyl 1- 190 psi. Cyl 2- 180 psi. Cyl 3- 190 psi. Cyl 4- 180 psi. Cyl 5- 180 psi. Cyl 6- 190 psi. Do these figures sound right?

sounds to me like your engine is quite healthy
