Just wondering if anyones run a 2.75" exhaust setup on there EF/EL i6.
Im considering soenthing different...there was a noticeable difference without going crazy between the standad 2.25" system to the XR etc 2.5" system. And I dont want 3" due to the N/A pressure issues. So yeh...will most likely be looking at a RPD RSpec 2/3 Cam, PH4480s and a 2.5"/2.75" system with hi-flow cat and single rear resonator like i have now. Have to have the tail end lifted a lil to help with clearance - im close but wanna keep the badges happy. Not really after performance more the note.

It would probobly cost more than 3inch as its such a unsortafter size and they would have to order a little in just for your car so they lose out and you end up footing the bill.
I really couldnt see any point at all in doing it. Just go with 2.5 and change your not with dif muffler/res combo's

Can't see any advantage, I think you will still lose backpressure.

no reason why you cant go with a 3" either, you just have to find a good exhaust place that will make a muffler that will give yo uthe right back pressure

But why bother when you can get a bolt on 2.5" off the shelf unit, if you restrict the flow of the muffler you're wasting space in the piping. |

Ok well thanks for the input but yeh imonly after anyone whos tried this size....
As far as exhaust shop it dont matter what diameter you get few places told me 2.5,2.75,3" it dont matter to them and wont cost any or next to no diff. As far as back pressure yes there will be a slight increase as to be expected just not as much as the 3" without worrying about that too much tho...the aim of this is to improve the exhaust note...give it a lumpier sound without being over the top audible....performance wise i really dont care....even a 3" could almost happen as the power loss from back pressure increase is only minimal..... just wanted to see how if anyone had gone this size felt it sounded etc

Different note... exhaust is there for when the turbo goes in many reasons.

I'm friends with the guy that EFFalcon speaks of, and his car sounds absolutely unreal. Granted he is not running any resinators Can't remember how much it cost him, but i believe it was around the same cost as a 3inch, slightly cheaper tho. Not sure what's been done to your motor so i can't really say if it'd be any benefit performance wise, but if it's just the sound your after, than i say go for it! As you stated, the performance drop (if any) will be minimal, and it will also give you a head start when/if you decide to go blown later on...

well i may even just go a single 3" system mandrel bent in mild steel. Keep one resonator and loose the rear one like i have now....going 3" what mods have to be done to connect to pacey comps cause wouldnt they be designed for the 2-2.5" systems ?

possibly hence the reasoning for the post...but its hard to get info since not many run 3" on their standard N/A...I dunno...see if I go 3" i may even leave the rear resonator on....but also I'd be runing good headers and a lumpy cam so i dunno how running the car would be at certain rev ranges...idle im sure will sound great with this convo but yeh not sure about the drone issue.
