Hi all. I was wondering if someone could help me . I've got a coolant leak coming from a plastic T pipe towards the rear of the engine. I've been told this is a common problem in these cars being a 2005 falcon. Whats the fix and how much do you reckon it would cost? A local ford workshop quoted me $850.

I think it is mate. Ford told me they dont stock the part anymore it's been deleted and a new pipe was fitted to the Mk2 Bf because of this problem part . Apparently they knew but did nothing about it until the car was out of warranty. Then they make you fork out big bucks in repairs if you take it to a ford workshop.

Mate if its the one im thinking just near the brake booster, Your normal mechanic should be able to get a T piece and do that quite easily.

Hey guys sorry i can't download any pics as yet but i still have that leak. It's under the inlet manifold and a steel pipe runs from the thermostat to a short piece of hose and to this plastic T pipe, from there it looks as though another hose runs down under the car. Could this be a transmission cooler of some type? Iv'e taken it to three mechanics and not one of them was interested in repairing it. This is getting beyond a joke now. Does anybody have any ideas? They would be most helpful.

Hey guys just a quick update. Finally found the part i was after. A big thank-you must go out to the guys at GDM wreckers in Brisbane who found me the part. A friend who is a mechanic is going to put the tap in on the weekend and do other small jobs that are required. To you FORDMOD members who live in Brisbane,if you need a part give these guys a call i'm sure they can get it for you.
