Could be overheating and comming out of the over flow pipe (it runs from the coolant tower to the drivers side wheel arch)?
Mine was doing that when my thermo fans played up. |

Yeah only fill the overflow tank up to HALF WAY only as I use to have the same problem and on a decent drive my EL would piss out everywhere. Then I worked out I was topping up the Overflow to exactly FULL which was no good as that was creating to much pressure in the coolant system and so forth.
If that dont work also have a look under your car to see if it is leaking from the front of your block. Could be Waterpump shat itself . As I was also loosing water at a rate of knots one day then I looked under my car and saw that it was slowly pissing out from their. Got it replaced and since then I haven't even * Touch wood* used even a millilitre of coolant

It is not leaking down the side of your engine?

Umm... yeah , worst case scenario could be a Blown Head gasket. But then you would have other tell tale signs like blowing steam out of your exhaust, Airbubbles coming out of overflow tank and lastly a cappucino looking residue under Oilcap Then might be 1 or more Welsh plugs giving up the ghost
