I've been leaking only when it gets to normal temp. Did have a cold thermostat in but it wasn't even close to the line under normal, so i got another thermostat and now its leaking more.
I fill it up in the bottle about the battery. Yeah i was thinking it could be the senser thats on the side of the bottle.

If the coolant level is correct and the light is still on, then your problem is most likely the coolant level sensor is stuffed.
These coolant level sensors tend to get brittle over time and the floats start to leak which causes the float to sink and the warning light to come on. You will know if the coolant sensor is stuffed when you remove it as all stuffed sensors have a green colored float since they are full of coolant ! The replacement coolant sensors cost around the $50 mark which gives you a complete sensor and gasket and takes 5 minutes to replace Cheers, Itchione |

It could be air trapped in the system. Air will compress as the cooling system pressurises, causing the level in the header tank to fall.
To check, start the car and wait for the coolant light to come on. Look at the header tank. If the coolant level is appropriate and above the sensor in the tank then the sensor is stuffed. If the level is dropping a fair bit then you most likely need to burp the system. Remove the cap and let the engine idle until it is warm. If the level keeps falling then we need to look at whats causing this.

I had the light come on and stay on, all coolant was topped up, took it in for a serivce, was the float that messures if its high or low, had water in it. Just had it replaced, fixed the problem.
