when ppl start going crazy replacing every sensor under the sun in the bay trying to fix a fault with the i6, i notice in a few threads people say to check the temp sensor.
i read one thread where the plastic clip on the loom caused the problem (wtf) if i am seeing my engine is getting to temp, does that mean the sensors fine? or is there something else im not seeing?

Not exactly sure what you mean, but do you mean when your car gets to its normal operating temp?
What exactly is the problem your facing at the moment? |

most people talk about cleaning/replacing the AIT sensor more than coolant.

i think the reason they replace the sensor is because it intermitantly flickers. like the connection making contact with the sensor.
so even tho the gauge reads properly, the ecu is getting readings all over the shop. is there any other reason why they'd change it? just read some ppl swapped it out and fixed probs. im dealing with low power and real crappy idle.

Crappy idle (and low power) can be some things other than sensors.
It can be the oxy sensor though. Or ISC (Idle speed controller) Or plugs, leads, dizzy, coil.

Have you run fault codes to see if any thing is playing up?
Have you checked you base ign timing. short pins, start car, wait approx 2mins until engine stumbles now check timing etc? Whats you fuel pressure like? Blocked cat?

cats new. timing has apparently been reset twice by the mechanic.

pressure. thats the big one im thinking about now I would check your timing yourself, alot of mechanics out there don't wait 2mins on EL's after shorting the pins. On all other e-series you short the pins and away you go but on the El's you have too wait approx 2min until you see/hear the engine stumble. I would say your base ign timing is running approx 15-20 deg retarded..... cheers.............
