Hi all,
Can someone verify quite a few errors in the Max Ellery's EF-EL repair manual schematics? I'm on the Heater and Air Con page (p368), and the fan blower area seems to be all over the place. Shouldn't the common on the AC relay be connected to the fan blower positive, and NOT directly to negative? Also, the coil negative is connected to the fan blower, and not negative. The reason for my rant is as follows (Finally gettign to the point!) I'm going to put a switch, or thermister, to send voltage to pin 86 of the ECU. This is the fan blower speed input, that sends the thermos into 100% when AC and fans are on MAX. With a diode in there, it should be possible to get the fans on 100% without having the AC blower screaming in your face, and EEC will be none the wiser. There seems to be quite a lot of under hood heat, more than I think should be there (It never got that hot in the EB) I've looked at the Haynes schematic as well, but it doesn't have the EEC blower input wire drawn in, so I need to know if it sends a positive (most likely) to the EEC, or a negative. If its positive, there will need to be a diode added as well, to stop the spike from the AC relay from killing EEC. Please correct me if i'm wrong

They wouldn't be on all the time - they'd be wired to a switch to enable a thermister under the bonnet to turn them on boost when the under hood temp gets a bit much. Might get a jaycar temp control kit so I calibrate it to keep the temp at the bottom of the normal mark - where my EB use to sit most of the time. It never generated this much heat.
