so after buying my bits
bends 
1mtere + of pipe ( good spud gun afterwards 
did some cutting 
and welding 
need to weld the bottom elbow and add the breather for the rocker cover aslo need to get some brackets made up to hold it in place hopefully done by sunday then need to spend a few hrs polishing it up!

but i cant understand WHY! It will draw so much heat from the engine bay! Bad frank!

original idea , i like it man. as for the wieght copper is fairly light , just the leave the gf out for the hot runs up the strip ,lol. and the heat issue well copper is also one of the best heat dissapaters going second only to aluminium, but i figure you'll have a rubber boot as a vibration absorber and for alignment so heat transfer to where ever will be minimal , and hang on thats right air will be rushin thru it so should all go well

it's not going to get any hotter then any other metal intake will. there is only so much heat in the engine bay, it's just the copper will heat up a bit faster.

You need to fit a drain plug then fit it under your sink, then it is all done, otherwise you might not be able to unblock the pipe when it fills up with your hair.

Sorry Frank, I just had to say it. Or hook it up to a double bowl connector and fit a carby to it vik...Frank will know what I mean(been hangin around plummers too long)

I would have thought the BA 'pipe' would be more efficent as there is only one smooth air flow curve (less turblance as no 90 degree corners) with a 'side back' pipe to reduce turblance at throttle body and provide a touch more air on a major slow down i.e agressive braking.
But, the copper will look great prehaps clear spray it with a lacquer that can take heat noe Estapol. |

yeah, but did you guys forget that stainless steel is a great conductor of heat, it heats up hell fast and takes ages to cool down, i know this as i have used stainless steel hot plates before when out bush......

As I said in the other post heat dissipation is BAD - it means that copper will absorb engine heat and dissipate it into the intake faster. It will heat up to the same temperature but because it is more far more conductive than other metals it is going to transfer MUCH more of that heat to the intake. and copper conducts heat 25X better than stainless steel so imagine how hot this thing is going to get. There is no way around it using copper for an intake pipe is a REALLY REALLY bad idea. Its like wrapping your intake in an electric blanket!
