I have recently done the following to my el xr6- crow 2222549, chiptorque HP4, pacemakers 4480 and 2.5 exhaust + high flow cat. I really need to adjust the timing to suit the cam, the people at crow alluded that i need to measure something or other form the inlet with a timing gun etc- i dont have a timing gun, but i have a timing light- so does anyone exactly know how much degrees my timing should be ????

are you sure they weren't talking about cam timing instead of spark timing?

when you get a new camshaft it's a good idea to get a vernier cam gear so you can dial in your cam timing properly. to do this you'll need a dial gauge and the specs which came with your cam sheet.

if you need to change your spark timing then a timing light will suffice.

if you have a chiptorque chip, who ever tuned it should have set the timing where it needs to be.
