Hi trent,
Standard EF output was 157kw i believe. Have a look here at the common modifications done to these engines. Should give you an idea of what you're in for. http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=66 No info on rebuild parts sorry. What you looking to do?

Parts to rebuild the long block are less than $1000, you just need someone to do the machining and assembly, that shouldnt cost more than a days work in most cases.

better to pay like 4K or so from a performance supplier like ITS, CMS, JMM etc as all of the engine builds normally a complete rebuild depedning on the work you get done otherwise it would be just bottom end etc rebuild

Why are you quoting yourself? You know its possible to edit a post to add in anything further you have to say.
If you go into a shop and say you want your engine rebuilt, then they arent just going to do the short block, they are going to do the whole thing. I say get an exchange head from the big guns and give it to your local block to fit up... Saves your plenty of dosh over having a name build it.

Hey HRE66
What sort of costs are there involved in saloon car racing ? It's something It's something I looked into a while back and I wouldn't mind getting into it I guess the costs are more than what would initially meet the eye with all the control parts your have to run etc. Also what sort of classifications do they have in terms of an 'amature' class ?
