Hello Everyone
First off I would like to say Hi. Being a noob and all I have come here every now and then to look up a few things and thought why not join. You all seem so helpful and nice which is a rear thing online these days. Ok to my question. I just got my self an EF falcon. (After owning a XE for 22 years) When I RW a car I always do the breaks steering bushes and ball joints and tie rod ends and such. What I would like to know is are the upper and lower ball joints pressed in on the EF? I had a look and could not see any bolts like the X’s had. And if they are pressed in I would want to put some good ball joint in the EF so I won’t have to do it again. Can you guys give me some advice on which ball joint be the best to get? Thanks all Lucions P.S. Is there any other little suprizes waiting for me like this ball joint one ? Last edited by Lucion on Tue Apr 24, 2012 2:15 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

They are pushed into the Knuckle and it would be a good idea to use Genuine Ball joints.
Upper ones are ABJ 20 Z $48.60 each and the lower ones ABJ 21 Z $47.80 each. I would suggest that you take the knuckles to someone who can press them out for you. |

But it cant be helped i guess. Thanks again for your advice |

Easy enough to knock out, remove the circlip and belt the buggers out or press tham if you have a press. Pedders will usually do them pressed in for around $20.00 each. Usually only need to do the bottom joints as the top tend not to wear. While you have them out you can squirt some fresh grease into the top ones.

But if i am going to do them anyway i might as well do them both. I have a feeling I will be keeping this car for awhile lol the last one i kept for 22 years...i seem to get attached to my cars for some reason Thanks Again Lucion |
