cracked the sump in the au engine in the ed doing up bellhousing bolts and was wondering how to drop the crossmember and how to support the engine from the top so it doesnt fall.

how long would it take to drop the crossmember

how the f.,''k did you do the bellhousing bolts up that tight to crack the sump???

there is a bit of work involved, i did mine in a day.. its a bit of a pain bolting the sump back up on au engine while the bellhousing is attached, do able though....

i supported my engine with a chain and a steel bar across the engine bay using wooden blocks on the inner guard/shock tower..unbolted engine mounts ,unbolted the steering rack from the k frame, unbolted sway bar, undone lower control arms, undone the strut bars from the lower control arms.. pretty much left the suspension to hang and unbolted the k frame..

may almost be easier to just pull the engine out... takes pretty much the same amount of time...

id just remove the engine it would be more f**k around undoing everything else and dropping the k frame at the end of the day the engines still in the engine bay and id prefer it out of the car sitting in front of me to work on

engine out is my resolution as well.
