Just wanting to know if any1 has used one of these cams? The main reason why im getting a new cam is that i have to replace the lifters so i thought why not make a bit more power. Im also getting new valve springs. Would like to know wat else i should look at getting to make it more worth while. Thanks

i just fitted new lifters and a 519 cam in my EF Fairmont. Not a radical cam, but made a difference. Still has a smooth idle, etc..
I also have the vernier gear for the cam (but havent installed it yet) but it is recommended to get an accurate cam setting. Overall driveability was improved, and seems a decent combination with the 2700 highstall in the fairmont too.. Good luck! David

Get some roller rockers. Throw those pressed jobbies away.

Huh? WTF are you on about? I have that cam in my ute, and I'm very happy with it. Get a set of Crow springs to suit, dial it in straight up with the vernier gear and you will be very happy. Nice smooth idle, nice sound, works well with extractors and a good exhaust. Pulls like a schoolboy down low.

I would get the vernier gear with the cam.
If you have had the head done & au gasket it will throw the cam timming out. With the gear you can adjust it back to top dead center. Why don't you try a wade 1636 cam it has got slightly bigger lift & duration.
