depend on what you mean by success. there are alot of engines that have had crow cams fitted and have started and run afterwards, thats successful. if it didn't run that would be failure. |

crows range for I6 is limited, better of going with someone like Wade or Cresent, at least you can be confident you will get your aftersales questions answered. Crow mainly is interested in V8's when it comes to falcons.

I only ask because I have just fitted and removed their 549 cam in my au, and I was disgustedwhen it only gave 6 rwkw. I've since sent it back for a refund.

I think AU's need a tune as the ecu relearns back to factory settings. Maybe ask Joe from Crescent about it as he posted something similar

well the 945 is hardly a big cam. with a power range from 1250 to 3800rpm, did you honestly expect some huge peak power increase? What was the low to mid range change in power like? crow also recommend a retune to suit that cam. The factory AU ECU doesn't lend itself very well to cam changes. |

i've got a crow cam in my EF XR6, the cam which does not need the upgraded ECU.
it idles well and does add extra grunt. but with what i've read on here, i think next time i'd choose a bigger and better cam from another manufacturer.

They've redesigned it, it's now supposed to produce power between 1800-5000 rpm. It made very little diference below 3500 (maybe 4 kw at best) and peaked around 5000. We gave up trying to dial it in and hired a dyno and just adjusted the vernier until it produced it's best. This was done on the same dyno under amost identical atmospheric conditions.

They also quoted a minimum of 15 rwkw from it

Only from 3500 on and not enough to worry about

i have the crow 519 cam that i got 2nd hand in my ed and to be honest the rwkw isn really impressive.. i only got 125rwkw but it peaked with 375nm torque which is fantastic for towing and climbing hills..
but i would have liked more. its only there mild cam but i think i could have made a better choice of cam lol.. |

So you obviously logged the AFR while it was one the dyno. what was it like? |
