When you push the Cruise Control button, it doesn't show up on the dash

Where should i check first?

Press the button harder and wiggle it.
Check the Brake fuse.
Get someone to check your brake lights.
Does the cruise work, but just doesn't have a illuminated light? if so, your instrument cluster globe is blown.
