well i purchased a custom intake plenum, now the installation seems a little more involved than first thought, here are some pics of the plenum..

now the main problems which i can see with installing it are..

*engine oil dip stick, is in the way, how can i rectify this?
*the eb - ed fuel rail looks like it will bolt on, but the feed and return fuel lines have brackets and wont allow me to bolt them to the plenum
* the plenum has three threaded holes underneath, now these are obviously for sensors and vacuum lines, what lines/sensors are absolutely needed?
on the old manifold theres:
*the hose to the brake booster
*map sensor vacuum line
*hose to the fuel press reg
*breather to the rocker cover
*air charge sensor? i think it is
*and obviously a s**t i am missing, or arent sure wtf are for

Looks to me like it is just going to be a matter of welding on a few more brackets and modifying the stock parts to fit.

Why not ask the guy you got it from?

i have done, but was never fitted to his vehicle, so it makes it rather difficult

you could try using a CFI EA oil dipstick, they are angled differently. I know this because i had to swap them over when i did the mpi conversion on my old car.

is it possible to bend the pipe in the engine bay going to the heater core ? as it appears i will have, maybe even cut it back?

with the dip stik u could use 1 of those flexi 1's from supercheap.

Hey mate, as for your fuel rai problem, what about using the EF/L one. The in and return lines are both further back, and both face down, unlike like the EA-D one.

Just a thought.

i used an ef style dipstick in mine... not a direct bolt in, but angle is good, and you just need to bend up the bracket to fit right

ye mate, tried the ef/el one, but they dont line up with the holes on the manifold :shock: so im gona have to do some work on the EB - ED fuel rail, which is where i was hoping you could come in 8-) with supplying me with one

so Tom gonna use my suggestion of cut that heater pipe and re-join it with a bit of flexi?

Just cut the other s**t off and re-mount it elsewhere and extend any piping if need be man, probably going to be the easiest way out of it. Can't think of anyone who might be up to the task down there though.... ummmm maybe try Minna Engineering or Wallace's??

ye most probly dude, well i probly only have to cut off a small portion from the ends, then i'll just buy a piece of longer flexi and bust her on, if not, f**k the heater off, and i'll buy a jumper :shock:

yeah sounds like a plan

so where you gonna go to see about hooking the rest up?? if you want more stainless then maybe Coastal's if you drive off the end of your road? They might weld some bits up and make some brackets...

OR if I'm nice I might talk to my cousin and see if he's interested in custom-fabbing some bits for you as he specialises in stainless and ali... let me know and I'll talk to him next time he comes on MSN
