Buying the parts is only half of the cost required for a turbo install. Don't even think about a turbo unless you're prepared to throw 10 thousand maybe more at the car. If it was only 5 grand, every man and his dog would have done it hey?

Personally, i would probably do the following:

manual conversion - not just for performance, but for fun - $1000
--- OR ---
3.9 diff gears + cam change if you want to stick with auto - $1000
( ^ im kinda guessing these above prices..)

full exhaust system - to bring that smile to your face when you wind her out - $1000

lowered on 17's - obvious handling benefits +looks great - $1500

decent sound system - cuz if it's too loud, you're too old! - $1500

Cover the different aspects of enjoying your car i reckon before spending the big bucks on anything in particular.

if u want insurance don't get a turbo kit.

In Vic you have to get an EPA certificate and an engineers cert for a turbo on a falcon to be legal and RW.

also you should check the new P plate laws as to modifying your car don't know much about them myself but from what i heard you cant do much performance mods, i would gather as much info as i could first before you spend your money.

I seriously think you need to pay more attention to the forums if you're serious about getting a fairmont then modding it.

1- i think you'd be hard pressed to find a e series with a 5spd auto. lol.
2 - lol. about every 3rd thread on here has something to do with an auto to manual conversion. lol again.

They are a 4 speed auto but they change like, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd overdrive then 4th. So sort of a 5 speed.

You can get a 5 speed manual put into them and you will need the manual ECU.
