reminds me of a bloke who put blocks of wood under his car at the height he wanted it to be then just got the oxy out and heated an area of the coils until the car dropped and was sitting on the blocks of wood
lowering job done at exactly the height he wanted

Welding of leaf springs can't be that hard. My mate was out in central aus when one of the ones on his caravan snapped. A travelling buddy (admittedly a fitter and turner by trade but not a welder) welded a small piece of leaf on top of where it snapped and the welded the crack itself and that thing lasted for some ridiculous number of k's over rough corrugated roads until they got to perth.
