Burson and Repco selling wrong goods? No.. s**t goods! ok, where to buy not s**t parts? I think its 150% widely known in here to only purchase an AU metal head gasket if your doing a headgasket swap. Anything else and you're generally wasting your time if you want a long life of no gasket leaks. The only aftermarket one I would bother purchasing would be the Durapro graphite gasket. The typical VRS kits you buy off the shelf are generally the cheap s**t ACL or Permaseal kits. |

yeah, i figure OEM AU gasket and bolts is the way to go... why lap the valves though? do they come out when you get the head machined? (i think i only know enough info to get me in trouble here haha never pulled a head before but would like to give it a go!) ive got a good mate i work with here that i can ask, he builds his own engines, so might have to chat to him, also work next door to a dizzy place but the guy owns a couple of drag cars, so knows his stuff too... will keep reading, talking and hopefully work out what to do before anything breaks haha
cheers guys |

Workshops not buying any AU head gaskets separately from VRS kits- its really waste of money. Just do head job by themselves or sending heads to specialized workshops. And the cars running for years and thousands and thousands of kilometres without problem (if everything was done properly). And if somebody does by himself cheap and quick repairs – no sense to expect the quality job.

The Tickford head I got from FTG has one of these pipes and exits in a T piece on the return hose from the top of the thermostat housing to the overflow tank seems to work quite well!
