hey i just need some clarification on something i heard, i have an ef xr6 and my air conditioning compressor is stuffed and i pulled a used one from a wreckers and i was going to take it to a shop for them to install it and re-gas it and all that stuff, but last week i was told that getting a second hand one is a bad idea as once the compressor gets air into it they are useless and will most probably break, is this true and is there any alternative to fixing this problem because i dont want to spend heaps of money on a new one

As the new ones don't come vacuum sealed with refrig gas in them, I think you will be fine, a proper air-con guy will suck a vacuum out of the system once it's all connected then re-gas. So as long as the compressor is in working order you should be ok.

yea its not a big deal, ive had mine off 2 or 3 times and its fine..

maybe a second hand one that has been sitting around out of the car for a long time might not be the best,
aslong as no dirt or moisture gets into it its fine....
