The dev kits are getting awesome results, but you do pay alot of money for it.

i wouldnt bother with jim. If you can... Take your head off.. spend 1k on it then your likely to have the best jmm head or better. Get a surecam and a uni chip. you have the right zorst and a 5 speed so your set. i rekon 2.5k and you'l pull more power then jmm kits.

from my experiance, the dev5 needs better gearing or a stall, but is still very fun on my set up :D

Do the Dev5 kits feel very fast to drive? Are they strong from idle a rev out much better than stock. Looking at a Dev 5 jmm install in my EF.

Dev4/5 would benefit greatly from a high stall, I got a Dev3 and its great with standard convertor, but the power band on the others is set a lil higher..

ive been in fairmontxr6's (my cous) car the DEv 5 is good but, he's running jus normal 4499 headers and stock intake stock gearing and stall... even then it really pulls well from 3000 but off the mark its pretty poor but as he said it will hammer when its got the setup.... EG stally, 4.11's and improved intake piping etc

Its a bit different when u actually drive the car than as a passenger, as no one but me has driven it with the DEV 5 installed. I have ran the following combos
A stock ghia (ghias have standard: XR6 T motor, 3.45LSD and better ECU/fuel system, with better kick down/up shifts in auto),
A DEV5 head and cam,
and a DEV 5 head with XR6 cam.

Standard Ghia had a great amount of tourque but was lacking in kw.

DEV5 head and cam, was pretty insane after 55/60km/hr (3,000rpm)

DEV5 head with XR6 cam is better off the mark, but lacks the high end power.

Basically, because of the setup i had with the DEV 5 head & cam, once i hit about 55/60km/hr (3,000rpm ish) in auto 1st, it felt like boost had come on, the tacho moves alot faster than the first 3000rpms and it takes f*** all time to shift into 2nd and not much longer before you hit 3rd.

BUT you should know:
the head or cam in my engine has made the timing chain noisy (and i have replaced the tensioner, all gears and chain)
also has noisy lifters (all lifters are brand new) - but this noise is because of the shims, yes the DEV 5 is a regrind!!!
i have heard that the above problems are common with JMM - something that i was never told until after i brought the stuff.
