as far as i know mate the dev5 cam is pretty streeatble, i think all jims cams are designed to run on standard ecu. pretty sure the dev 5 has a noticible cammy throb, but nothing ultra lumpy like the RPD stage 3

and lets not make this a negative thread about jmm either, lets get opinions and reviews on the camshafts they do, not jim himself Nicely put I have a DEV3HL cam in my car and it's woken it up a heap. Check out the dyno graph for PROOF. The blue line is pre cam (headers, hi flow cat, exhaust) and the red line is DEV3HL. Although the dyno sheet suggests otherwise, I found that this cam gave a good increase in grunt from idle to 3,000 and really goes berko from 3,000 to cut out. For the price of the cam package (which includes cam, intake, leads, plugs, full instructions on how to install and the header and exhaust system if you choose) I thought it was pretty reasonable, as they are the only company out there who back their product up with proof. FYI: I'm having my car re-dynoed (on the same dyno) very soon and expect to see around the 155rwk mark. I'll let you know how it goes. |

Bloke accross the road has a DEV5 and it idles O.K. A touch lumpier than mine but. Sounds a bit meatier than mine too. Bastard still hasn't taken me for a spin in her yet!! I wish I had of gone the DEV5 route now. Imagine the power I would be making with that baby |

thats why i dont want to go anyless than a dev5
but guess what? brendan mock told me that he fitted the dev6 cam only into a falcon and it made 209rwkw..... he didnt touch the head coz the guy already had headwork done... but over 200rwkw.... brendan told me that the car was a speedway car, can you image driving that thing? |

Yeah, they list a "DEV-6R" but don't say what cam they use. Here's what it says:
Complete Custom Rebuild with Full-Race modifications. These engines are on Custom Order and are for Competition use. POA. |

Lots of speedway cars are pulling over 200rwkw. None would be streetable.

But 200RWKW out of a N/A 4L? Alot of ppl have been chasing this for a long time. Most who have given it a shot will tell you that there are limitations within the engine which just wont let it happen.

Yes, there are a fair few 200rwkw+ 4.0's out there. Crow have a range of MASSIVE solid lifter cams for these engines (650+ thou lift, 250+ duration).
The goal for us is to make one that is streetable (ie. will idle under 2000rpm).

couple guys on the forum are already looking to break the 200rwkw mark in an e-series 4ltr ... prob is the costs then vs forced induction options.
The jump from ya normal dev5/6 packages from most joints for round 6-8K at round the 180rwkw to get the extra 20+rwkw was a massive jump in costs.

hehe like yourself brad how many thousands of dollard did u spend on the waggin 209rwkw. im guessing thats on the jmm dyno. so maybe more like 180rwkw on any other dyno
