Well I was taking the steering column out of my car and it was all new to me.

So I followed my gregory's which was a big mistake.
It was giving instructions on how do detach all the, shrouds and wiring, then in the middle of all that it said, remove steering shaft clamp from shaft.

So I removed the tilt clamp thing, and got ready to take it out and it wouldn't moved, I slowly lowered it to almost floor height and the column flipped upside down, at this point I'm furious again with the awful gregory's guide.

Giving up on the gregory's and using logic I discovered there was a bolt connecting the steering shaft to the intermediate shaft, removed it and the column came out nice and simple.

My question is would I have done any damage to the bearings in the column?
