What a d***head, spends all the money (that I'm betting he doesn't have, loan or credit) then can't afford basic mechanical servicing. Anyone who wants to modify a car and drive it hard should learn some mechanical sympathy first.

I agree it would be nice to have a quick ford, but the tail lights dont suit if you ask me, clear tails work on many cars but not a ford like that, maybe if it was silver but not with that colour... also would you want to run the risk of having a fcked up tranny and dif as well? who knows what else might break on it, if you abuse a car things go wrong (trust me ive destroyed a few cars in my idiot youth) wheel bearings, axels, etc. you would only want to bid 3 and spend a few grand rebuilding a few things i think... 6k for a non runner abused car? think not :/

if i had 5 - 6 k to play with id pay that his opening bid. head gasket isnt that expensive. even if it needed new tranny and diff for the original price you pay its fairly cheap. EL xr's go for 7k plus here. and thats a stock one too. so really its a fairly decent buy providing shes all straight.

What are the brakes he's running?

Cars such as XR6's etc. are made to be enjoyed, if he enjoys flogging it, go for it. He payed for the thing!
