I think the lane is long wheel base and has all the leather and wood grain bits that you would find in a fairmont ghia.

The last 4 letters
Which model fairlane and fairmont do want to compare?? i.e e-series, a-series etc?? Each series will have differences but if you want specifics we'll need the model.. As a couple of guys have said already, the Fairlanes are obviously LWB.. Then you would have your interior and exterior differences too such as grills, rear tail lights and garnishes etc.. |

fairmont is the same size as the normal falcon sedan, a fairlane has the same wheel base as a wagon or ute. they both have all electrics and upgraded interior from the standard falcon and most fairlanes are V8's and they are all auto.

Basically they have a small compressor mounted just behind the front bumper. When the back of the car drops (due to extra weight etc.), it pumps air down the lines to the rear shocks. Puts more air in the shocks to raise the back of the car up. It's a pretty crappy setup really as they were prone to failure, and as the rear suspension was very soft, handling was terrible. EA Ghias had the SLS setup as well, and it just felt floaty, with sensational bodyroll! Most of these cars have had the rear suspension replaced with standard springs and shocks anyway. When the setup did fail, it was usually quite expensive to fix, so people ripped it all out and replaced it with standard.
