The EF and EL BBMs look exactly the same, but the upper halves at least have different casting numbers: 94DT (EF) vs 96DT (EL), so there must be something different.

I'm putting a new engine in my EF, and it came with an EL BBM. I'll leave the EL manifold on if there are no issues. But I don't want to get the engine in the car and be surprised by something that doesn't work with my EF. I'd rather swap the manifolds over with the engine out of the car.

Thanks for the help.

seeing as there has been no reply ....

from memory I remember reading that there is at least one difference between them on the upper half [think it was the upper?] where one has a small pipe/breather & the other does not. but then again this maybe differences between EF/AU lol ... was ages ago

Thanks for that. I suspect it's nothing to worry about. The BBM is such a devil to work around when it's in the car. I will check for differences once the EF engine is out and I have them side by side.

The difference is the EL upper has castings for mounting of the induction piping.
