hi all, ive heard that disconnecting the battery on an EF means that i have to do some annoying recalibration with my throttle and all that. could someone please fill me in on the ins and outs of this.

yeh it does
what i ahve always been told is -Reconnect the battery obviously -Leave to idle in park for 2min -Idle in drive, stationary for 2min -Idle in park with AC Max on for 2min -Idle in drive, stationary, with AC Max for 2 min Then take for a drive, hold it in gears and basically just run through all of the functions like demister etc. Drive it hard Thats what i have always done and it seems to work alright, takes it a couple of weeks of driving untill it is perfect though

i think it depends how long you left it off for. ive never done all that s**t, just driven it and let it relearn

there is a learning procedure like mentioned above, but its not really nessesary.
just connect the battery start it and away you go, it will learn its closed loop function as it drives... |

The wife's AU on gas has always been really sluggish, disconnected the battery heaps of times for various reasons, always ends up bit sluggish.
Anyway I did the whole procedure listed above about a month ago, massive difference, drives much better, goes harder and is better on fuel. She has even noticed the difference, which is really saying something. |
