If you have just washed the engine down, chances are a bit of water has gotten into the distrubutor or in the coil. The distributor or 'dissy' is under the intake manifold as is the coil toward the rear of the engine.

If the car is stuttering when idling, just take it for an easy drive down the road and back, let the engine warm up and all the water that was in the distributor will just dry out

Nah shouldn't need to replace anything if you just got it wet. Like 'Froudey' said, just keep cranking till it starts haha.

But if you're really keen to get to the distributor, prepare for some grazed knuckles and alot of swearing. It's best if the engine is cold to do this as there is a nasty metal heater pipe that runs right next to the dissy. Also take out the air filter box and intake tube above the radiator to make it a bit easier to get to.

There are two metal clips that hold the cap onto the distributor base, but i can't remember if there is enough room to move the cap with the high tension leads attached. Give it a go though, even if you can lift the cap up enough to squeeze a air nozzle in there to blow out the water.
