just wondering if anyone can tell what could cause this white powder build up on the coil point and the first two firing point on the dizzy cap. there wasn't any signs on the inside of the dizzy cap only on the points. got a pic here aswell so u can have a look.

I think that's corrosion .
Replace the cap , rotor button , leads and spark plugs or clean it all off .

My guess is it's oxidization. If the lead was loose or not pushed on properly, the spark would have been jumping the gap.

Hi,
It looks like corrosion. You will need to replace the cap and leads. On rainy days it will take in moisture and cause a miss when you apply power. I have found in the past that cleaning wont work, for a reliable fix you have to replace them. Regards 96ELGli
