Hey Guys,
I'll keep the jibber to a minimum. Basically ford ISC is S&^%$T... My 8860 was (i thought) doing a good job of controlling it. Just recently the car has been hard to start, bordering on impossible, with the odd shotgun backfire...... What are others using with there aftermarket systems. I was thinking a stepper motor, similar to the FBW throttle on some vehicles..... Are E series V8 ones the same as the 6's?? I would think they are.....I'll google some stuff and see what happens..... Cheers Daz

as you know daz im using the i6 isc on mine and it works fine..
but i did notice my ems seems to control the idle better using the au isc using the same settings.. did you end up copying the isc settings from my file?? maybe the hard start issue is due to the post start setting?? |

I put my block back on and it fired within 3 seconds of cranking. I did try your settings, but as i had other issues while fitting the 8860, i am not sure if it's the same now.....
I have a spare AU one, i think. Might give it a try and see what happens. If you can give me your settings again Troy, i'll compare them and see how much difference there is........ Apparently, 1 and 2J's use a stepper motor ISC, same with some Hyundai's and Mitsubishi's, not the gay PWM types ford uses. I'd have to make a new bypass block for the T/B, but i cant see that as being too much of a big deal. Cheers Daz

my setting change slightly from tune to tune, depending on the timing at idle. my taget rpm is 850, aux pwm frequency is 255, initial open position is 82, additional cold open position is 97.. the base pwm is 100.59 htz... with my isc switched off it idles at 700rpm with it on it idles around 825rpm. also if it helps... my post start in tuning screen is at.. -20deg c=40%fuel=15 decay seconds. 0 deg c=30%fuel=5 decay seconds. 20deg c=15%fuel=3 decay seconds. 40deg c=10%fuel=3 decay seconds. 60deg c=10%fuel=1 decay seconds. 80deg c=5%fuel=2 decay seconds. 100deg c=10%fuel=5 decay seconds. 120deg c=10%fuel=5 decay seconds. these post start setting made a huge difference in how long it took to start when cold.. it now starts within 3-4 cranks.. previously to theses settings it was adding way to much fuel while cranking and the car would crank over quite a few times before it would fire but would stall straight away, resulting in me having to start with some throttle.... |
