The front bumper or the XR grill?
I don't have an EL but its can't be that hard, the sides just in front of the wheels will slide out off the plastic clips and the main bolts might be 20-30cm either side of the number plate. Get underneath fair bet you will see some bolts to do with the front bumper.

Well if you get it off with out taking bolts out then you broke something.
If it doesn't come don't force it lol, keep looking for bolts. Will be like 4 i reckon, you might have to turn the plastic clips either side 1/2 or a 1/4 of a turn to unlock them. Might be an investment to buy a repair manual there like $40 - $60 and cover a lot of things.

ef el are different to ea-ed. standard and xr are basically same
there are four nuts 14mm head, 2 per side that hold the reo to the body, located below the headlights. 2 x 13mm head nuts in behind the indicators. 2 x 10mm head bolts each side at top of bumper under the guard, behind plastic guard liner cover. also 4 x 8mm screws underneath at the front |
