Ok sorry for this its going to be a bit rushed but if there are any questions fire away.
i finaly found the time to take the car into ford and have the keys cut and recoded and......
it started first go!
ive put i few pics up of the auxr rear seats and parcel shelf that i put in,
the new rims and tyres as you can see,
el mirrors,
and a full plastic welded BA bodykit to suit e series (rear bar from a wagon as the sedan is a difficult shape to work with.
everything works well theres just a few things that need to be done.
need to sound proof the firewall and realign the dash, minor adjustment to the positioning of the accelerator.
wire up rear doors and windows, add rear trims, new carpet, new windscreen and get it lowered and fix a small exhaust leak. thats about it...
oh and its going into the booth this weekend to be painted black.
ive chosen to remove the custom kit ive made because it still needs some reinforcing in some places and i dont have the time to finish it, so unless someone is interested in buying it then i will finish, paint it then put it on at a later date.
total cost so far $2500 from scratch and about 5 days work.
cheers Jesse

This thread blew me away a bit.

Gee you just get stuck into it. Well done for a young bloke.

How did you plastic weld the bumpers. Did you get a pro to do it and what is the bottom half.

Many thanks for all the positive feedback guys!
Dyno day... as for now i think that will happen right at the end so there will be a bit of a wait for that one.
The plastic welding on the bumpers i did myself, i just got my hands on some ba xt side skirts and a xt front bar, and a ba wagon rear bar. i cut a horizontal line through them at the finished height i was happy with, then screwed it into the stock eb bumper bringing the ba edge into the eb groove in the trim, as for the actual welding theres a fair few ways to go about it, i just decided to buy a soldering iron with some different attatchments and a good heat gun, i tried all different types of methods untill i found something that worked best for me, in the end i found using a non stick cake tray as a melting pot a flat head screwdriver to help mix the plastic as your heating and a spatula/trowl to apply the hot plastic to the bar.
i used off cuts from the ba bar wich i cleaned and stripped the paint off and cut to small 100/80ml peices, heating 2 or 3 peices in the dish with the heat gun untill they are completely molten, you crank the heat gun up to full onto the spot that your going to weld and shock the surface temp, then apply the molten plastic with the spatula, after some practice i got it down to an art and the whole process was much faster and easier, the hard part is getting familliar with the procees.
Im simply amazed at how usefull this knowledge is, because i look at plastic in a whole different way now, things i used to scrap because they were broken i can now fix with ease or even completey customise something, theres a whole new world of options now that i got a heat gun so a MUST for anyone doing work with plastic.

Ive scored some New pacemakers and a high flow cat to ad to the build also which ill put in after paint..

Ill keep this page posted as the build comes to and end.
Cheers Jesse

Nice work matey, glad to see it's going full steam ahead. I do, however, reckon you'll be very disappointed in several months after you get that bonnet bulge grafted on, the fibreglass ones that i have seen have all split where it's grafted to the bonnet
