G'day again,
I would like some advice as to whether I need to change the drive belt on the Ford AUII, there are some fine cracks appearing but cant feel anything rough as such. See photo. Does anyone know what type of screw fits the Air intake pipe that sits on the front frame of the engine bay?. Does it need to be a special type or would any screw do? See photo. Thanks

if you do any distant driving I would be changing the belt..
the screws are just self tapping screws similar to the ones used on the door sill scuff plates... |

EDIT: Damn Troyman bet me to it...I take too long to type I think!
I'd replace the belt. The microcracks will eventually turn into bigger cracks and snap on you. If it's cracked, replace it IMO! Regarding the intake snorkel screws. They are short phillips head screws similar in size and pitch to the screws found on the door sill plastics. Short with large pitch.

Gates actually have an application for your phone that you can take a photo of the belt, and it will tell you condition. Never used it, could be a good though!

Troyman , Phongus and rainoffire,
Much appreciated your reply. Yes I do a lot of long distance driving and will change the belt over. Will do so on Sunday. Thanks for the info on those self tapper screws for the air intake. Trip to the wreckers to get those screws. I dont think local hardware store would have the right type Cheers |

Further question regarding belt replacement.
Do I need to remove the radiator or just the thermo electric fans assembly? Cheers |

It makes it a hell of a lot easier to change the belt with the thermos out. You don't need to remove the radiator.
