hey all
searching thru the records at home from when i bought the car, i found a dyno chart with the following figures: speed: 121km/h power: 172 rwhp torque: 515 MAP: -0.5 petrol: 10.04 this is an EF Futura, with (at that time) pod filter, mandrel intake, stg 2 crom cam, pacemaker extractors & lukey exhaust. my question is, specifically what does the MAP represent, and the petrol figure of 10.04 - is this an indication the car is running rich? i have no idea how to read into these figures i believe it is, and will be throwing in a malpassi adj fuel pressure regulator - any thoughts on this at all? car will be redyoned, with the following changes: AUIII XR snorkel, K&N panel filter (no more pod), mandrel intake, ported & polished TB. cheers

Fraser - you know my thoughts on the matter, but just to throw my hat in the ring...
Im thinking "BAP" might be an atmospheric adjustment for the dyno calcs. And "petrol" likely to be AFR, assuming this is plotted on the graph as a static fgiure doesnt really make sense.

yep - i figure you're prolly correct on that martin. just an update - had another look - the rwhp on the graph is given as 'corrected power (hp) (DIN)' and the torque on the opp side of the graph is given as 'Torque (Nm)' if that clarifies anything
and the petrol/AFR is just a given figure - not plotted on the chart at all...

yeh, not the best of graphs
my guess it that the 10.04 was the richest it ran (at wot, the richest you reallty would like it 12.7) and the MAP is the pressure inside your intake, not actually your manifold p[ressure. they stuck a probe down the intake too, must have been a pressure measure thingo -0.5 is not bad, means there is pretty mucgh no starvage of air at all 0 is a true WOT reading

and the petrol/AFR is just a given figure - not plotted on the chart at all... corrected power is a setting which counteracts hot/muggy air and trys to give you a true reading, like with out all the vairables ect...

is the stock reg befor or after the injectors on the rail? Im too lazy to go into the garage and look...

It's afer the inj on a V8, I think this is common for all EFI systems.

Yep, it holds pressure in... you would have to put it befor the injectors to decrease pressure

Yeah I see what you mean. But i would have thought the adjust reg would replace the stock reg (after the injectors) and regulate pressure from there - i.e. let more fuel through the return line than the stock reg, in order to achieve a lower pressure in the fuel rail?
