ilovmel, jjohnno - All cars will read different figures, even on the same dyno. It all depends how healthy the motor and driveline is. With a locknut's 117.8rwkw, I would say that it is a very healthy EA! :D

With a car that has the a*** flogged out of it, it may only pull around 90ish rwkw.

The only way to know is to actually put it on the rollers and see what she makes ;) Because just guessing is useless!

going by the temps on the bottom of the graph it was a pretty cold day which will always return slightly better figures.

dyno's are a tuning tool only. dyno figures can only really be compared to other cars run on the same dyno on the same day. most decent honest operators will be within coo-ee of each other but most arguements are settled down the strip.

had to be said

For sure man, will let ya kno when the next dyno day I hear of is on.

I'd very keen to see what rough exhaust alone give (snorkel or not).

I will have mine done by next dyno I hope, so will have a fairly good comparison.

Hey all, been away a little lately, but I have the newest dyno results. Previous runs were with the EA stock as a rock with a new head and valves. The runs were with airbox (stock) 114rwkw, and airbox removed; 117rwkw.

These new runs are (on a fkn hotish day) with my trusty EA running 4499's, small hi flo cat, lukey 2.5" twin muff sys. As it's a dyno day, I got the highest of the 2 figures without the airbox. 127.1rwkw (XH Snorkel and K&N Panel fitted), and 130.8rwkw without the airbox.

The guys were impressed that it's still running awesome Air/Fuel. Everything sounded nice, and I like to think of this as the "textbook" EA to compare mods Vs gain on. I did want another print out.. Street Trim Vs Street Trim, ie: 114rwkw Vs 127rwkw, but it didn't happen!

Cheers..

Thats a healthy figure for a un-cammed EA.

Got any plans for the 1/4 mile?

Yeah, cheers. Am already aware of heaps of figures for cars in general, I see now why you posted this.. I just meant "textbook" in the sence that, I got the gains that aftermarket manufacturer's claim from their products, and that my EA (whilst it's only a sh!tter) is such a nice and simple example to experiment with modifications and dyno'ing on. Cheers tho.

1 other thing, cuz I have grown up a bit, and the fact I race 1/10 R/C (which teaches you: 1) make it handle 2) make it fast) I've modified this car in what I believe to be, a sensible order. Shocks and coils first, then the others. If anything, I should really get new discs and pads next... :D

Yeah one day after the 1636 cam finally goes in.. I hope to bust into 14's. Fk I wish there was still a dragstrip in ACT. I've only been here 2 years, but I heard there was one a few years ago. I think Wakefield has a 1/4mile strip? Or is it Eastern Creek?

Also hope that the Wade Cam and maybe some ignition timing ad's another 18 - 20rwkw, and puts me over 150rwkw in an EA.
