hi
just another question...
on the dyno graph the afr starts at 15 and drops down to 12 and then down to 11.5 ..
what i need to know is 15 to rich or to lean i cant remember which way is which???

also to get a rough engine kw would i add 1/3rd of the kw or is it 30%??
i know there is no exact way of converting rwkw to fwkw im just after a rough estimate...

i had to much to drink last night i cant think today lol

15 is lean. Hard to tell exactly why though, might not have been pushed into open loop right away.

You would expect a 157rwkw falcon engine to make 105-110 on the dyno (although there are too many generous dynos these days), so you can figure that 133 would equate to roughly 175-180 ish at the flywheel.

thanks heaps stockstandard.. :)

could the fuel regulator be the reason why its so lean at low rpm??
if so, that could be the reason why its pinging...

i pulled the vaccum hose off the fuel reg and i noticed that the idle rises and engine runs smoother, although i didnt drive it like that..
i was thinking of using a xr6 fuel regulator but not sure if it would make any difference.
im thinking that 180kw at flywheel is abit generous but i can live with that. .lol.

Dont bother with an XR6 reg. The car is not having any problems getting enough fuel into it as you can see it gets down to 11.5 at the end of the run.

Personally I dont trust that dyno and would be looking to get another from a different shop. Also ask if they will print the X-axis in RPM instead of kph.

133 at the treads is a mighty fine effort for just extractors. Does it feel like 133 when you drive it.

well it does go pretty good ..
some times there is a little hesitation when you give it a boot full..

it also has other mods like 2 1/2 redback exhaust, pod filter in air box, ba xr6 t snorkle and a home mode cai running from the airbox to under the front bar..
but afaik the internals of the engine are stock..(low kms)
but its questionable weather these mods add up to that amount of kw..

but i feel i can get it running better... considering the pinging problems ive been having.
i dont think ill get much more power without mods like cam ..ect..

but i think your right stockstandard the dyno print out isnt that good it doesnt give me all the info i want..
i might get it dyno'd again ..
this time i will take it to joe @cresent motors..
i only got it dyno'd at power tune because cresent motor was closed for there x mas break..

Didn't you get 210psi on a compression test?

To me, thats a good sign it ain't stock inside.

yeah the lower the number the colder the plug, are they XR plugs i cant remember of the top of my head but that part sounds familiar as being ticky recommended plugs. although i dont know as much about the earlier E series, more about my EL. You should be get a that plug in a 5 heat rating

is it just me or is a 45km/h to 180km/h a very very long dyno run?

yes it has 210psi comp .. so i guess it could have been modified..
do you think there could be a possibility its a factory lpg engine??
that could explane the reason why it has high compression and pings??

but i dont know what would have been done to factory lpg engines

all i know about the engine is it came out of a fairmont..

raising rate fuel regulator is wat you should consider to lean. if it is an au series 1 xr6 engine its the same as mine and factory they are 172 kw at the fly thats the h p engine and the vct are 180 kw at the fly so with headers it stands to reason that your getting 133 have fun!!!!!!!!!
