take it quite on the way to the dyno get her there nice and cool, try duct taping some ice to ya fuel rail right b 4 the run lol, but serious a hot engine loses power.

Empty the ashtray.
The fuel you want from the airport is Avgas 100LL. A drum of VP MS103 or MS109 will help. Tolulene at 15% will add nicely to the bottom line. A cup of Propylene Oxide in 20 litres of premium unleaded will make a VERY nice increase. But how serious are you about humiliating him? The VP fuel's expensive and you need an ANDRA Fuel Logbook to buy it. If you can buy 98-octane E10 fuel locally (That's 10% ethanol), use it. If you're gonna use ice... Get hold of dry ice, much more effective than normal water ice. |

Exactly. What happens if you roll the dyno to the tune of 130RWK, then after you tell everyone, you get continually bet by blokes with lesser reputations (i.e. lower RWK), doesn't look good and it's a part of the reason that people hate dynos. |

Settle down.
Try and buy Propylene Oxide... Possible but fairly hard. Tolulene... Also possible but hard. The Dry Ice suggestion is safer for his engine than frozen water. I could have suggested a dash of Nitro, too. 
Lighten up guys. At the end of the day the only thing that really counts are time slips. And how much fun you're having. |

Anyone who doesn't understand why all dyno's / cars don't read the same RWKW with similar mods etc. should read this thread.
Tyre pressures, filters, fuel, all cars are different and these things change from day to day even run to run.

So, the only thing for it is to buy an EA-ED or EL... Then you'll win...

A standard EF auto vs a modded VS Manual.. hrm.. your in trouble.
Your only 10 fwkw up on the VS, plus he loses less due to the manual, and has some mods.

Octane boost doesn’t give you more power, it lets you advance the timing more and that gives you more power. In an EF you cant advance the timing so unless the engine is pinging its a waste of time.
Higher tire pressure (and skinny tires) will reduce resistance and give you a pooftenth of a kw as long as your not wheel spinning. Also unplugging the alternator can give small gains
My advice - just make sure your car is running as good as it can. Clean the spark plugs, make sure leads are ok, fresh oil will keep the engine happier under high loads. If the gearbox is due for a service get that done first as well to reduce power loss through the drive train. Oh, and dont get to carried away with peak power. Ask the dyno operator to graph the power vs rpm and compare the power output at each 1000 rpm. An extra couple of kw wont win you a race if your down on power through the midrange.
