Hey lads, time is drawing near when im gonna put the EF on the dyno to see what the old girl can throw out, any tips i can use to help get extra power, eg put in some octaine booster, clean the engine out? shes a auto 2 so what gear should it be in while on the dyno? 1st time ive put a car on a dyno so soz if this sounds stupid, im up against my mates VS commie heap, so losing is not an option as i wont hear the end of it.

Thanks.

take off the air filter and your rear wheel centre caps (if you have any)....also make sure they use those dyno blower fans infront of your car

Also (I know it's obvious) but make sure you haven't got the air con switched on. it sucked 10kw of power when the old man had his XR6 Turbo dynoed...

thats sorta cheating though, u dont run octane boosters and crap like that on the street, just run it as you would on the road (with the roof racks and mums shopping trolley in the boot) :P

how many runs you gonna do on the dyno?
*If more then two, remove the air filter & half fill the air box with ice cubes on the second run. use a old paper filter with a wire screen intact. remove the paper filter only. just incase ice gets sucked in.
*grab the best octane booster you can get.
*clean your sparkplugs.
*steering on dead center.
*check all electrical are off. fans, air cond, radio/amps.
*borrow a couple of skinny wheels, balanced.

LOL

Bump your tyre preassures up to 45psi or so. Run your tank right down and give her a full gutful of bp ultimate, and let the car cool down as much as possible before the dyno run. All in the name of outdoing the holden :)
