hey troy man experienced this problem after my engine swap and was a bad earth but i think you may be on to something
its possible a valve train component may not be doing its job like an exhaust valve not opening or being effected due to carbon build up maybe ? just an idea? |

Hey this thread has got me scared s**t!!!!! Because i run an AU motor with a dizzy.....
Could you put in a AUX shaft from a dizzy motor into an AU block???? my au motor has done about 50,000km with a dizzy and no problems as yet... its an AU series 1 block i wonder if thats a good thing.

I don't get how they could be different, the oil pump is going to be the bigger load, and that would be the same/similar regardless of model.
I wouldn't reckon you'd find a part number difference between shafts, but stranger things have happened! Interesting stuff though! Is there an oil feed in the block for the aux shaft? Open it a bit?

Im seeming to think its not a load thing, but more like a different cut tooth.... as in they dont COMPLETELY match...... I might just pull mine down and put an ED-EL tooth on the AU shaft. usually its just a pin holding it on. -- Im hopeing im a lucky one ive been running an AU motor with a dizzy since august 06
I think ill wait for the first symptom and as soon as it misses once ill put it in the garage and pull it out. $3000 worth of motor to die because of an aux shaft fuk that!

So troyman, does this mean the AU motor will go again after a simple aux shaft swap? So a shaft failure doesn't destroy anything?

So a shaft failure doesn't destroy anything? it should be ok only the dizzy drive part had failed.. the only slight concern is the fine metal from the drive gear that could have been curculating with the oil... |
