You probably have but it hasn't been mentioned, hows your ignition timing? How cleanly does it move when you rev it? what did you set it too? has the dissy moved? causing the advance to be out under load?

Have you done a leak down test on the cylinders? just a compression test can sometimes give false results.

I know it's right away from where this thread has been heading but could it be a bit of a sticky valve or something like that?

Have you checked the map sensor with a frequency meter? I had a problem with a mysterious miss. Although mine was when the engine was unloaded. It would run fine on throttle but idle and decelerate like a pig, cough and splutter and carry on. I checked all my sensors and everything was fine apart from the tps being slightly out, but the map sensor frequency was way out.
It took me 3 map sensors to find a good one but since changing that she was a ok. I know its not the same symptoms as yours but it might help?

i just went out and had a look to see if there was any spark jumping from leads and there is nothing..

i checked the timing for the 5th or 6th time thats ok.
i also did a sound vid and from behind at idle and about 1400rpm it sounds a bit like a helicopter and you can hear it poping out the exhaust at idle..

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=fFZZ7-OMCKc
and thats at its best it gets much worse under load

Silly question, but when you swapped dizzys did you also use a different TFI module?

yeah mate the vid is ex-f**k-actly what happened to my EL when the aux shaft went. started small, then the roughness got worse and worse, then after a time it did it under no matter what load you i put on the engine. then it went pop, and bye bye engine.

hope it goes alright for ya.

That sucks man, when i had my car dynoed i had a massive flat spot under load, then it got really bad and had a huge miss in it, thought at first it was dodgy fuel but then replaced plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor button, and put some injector cleaner through it and all was fixed.
Sucks that it wasnt that for you.
Hope you get the problem solved, if you resort to a 4 cyl get a vtec honda, they seem to go damn well.
