I can confirm that as the car has cruise, the loom for the power windows will be there. You will just need to plug the door looms in and the Pwr Window switch and you are good to go.

sweeeeeeet.
thats a big woooohoooo..
last time i made my own seperate loom for the power windows..

this is looking like a easy one to mod

snap0964, is there an easy way to see if an ED motor as an EF block? My current motor is from a latish ED fairmont ghia so wondering if mine might be an EF block also.
Should have a larger threaded hole on the block for the knock sensor between the back of the coil and the front of the starter motor.

I thought you knew all that stuff Troy - that's why you bought it. Most likely the wire is in place for the low washer bottle as well. Check the horn plug in front of the radiator for the two extra wires for the AMB air sensor.

If you weren't happy with the EA overall then I think you made the right choice. Shame it wasnt as simple as the coil like I first suggested though :(

At least you've got a heap of new parts to throw onto the ED.

i had heard this.
but most of my dilly dadling has been with ea,s and base model ebs.but its something i didnt really think about when looking for one.
the main things i was looking at was body and engine condition..
so it having a high series loom makes it even better.

i was fairly happy with the ea but as with everything it was starting to show its age.
and if it was something simple i would keep it going but it would need a paint job soon and it had started to get a few cracks around the door latches and in the body so i took this opertunity to start over..
and i was kind of running out of mods to do to it anyway.lol
so i now have the pleasure of doing it again.
:D

You should buy my ED XR front end for your ED, and fix it up.
Good plan hey?

Troyman, make sure when you cannibalise the interior that you don't break any of the ED stuff... shove as much as possible back into the EA.

Also don't degas the aircon, put your ED log manifold onto the EA and see what you can get for it.

actually i still got the original ea s pack interior and plastics in my shed..
so i might need a shed clean out sale soon..
or a tip run lol..

but i will probably end up using the ef engine acessories/serpentine set up from the ea on the ed anyway..so there goes the aircon gas again..

Dude --- I had the same problem to an extent and I didn't have the knowledge to start changing everything. I put it down to a clogged injector at first.

The theory of a clogged injector still stands the test as when it started running on 5 I pulled all the plugs out one by one with the engine running and the sixth cylinder was not firing although I got a bloody wopping electric shock from the spark plug by being over confident that the coil or lead was dead! Ouch, never mind - you live and learn.

After starting to pull the petrol rail off to get to the injectors it was dark and I had no light.

So ---

HAVE YOU TRIED PUTTING IN A DIFFERENT ENGINE MANAGEMENT UNIT (computer in passenger footwell).

I just happened to have two of them, so put the other one in.

Car ran absolutely beautifully for 5,000km and is only now starting to idle roughly again. Motor has done 310,000km with no receipts in it's book for injectors. I still put the original problem down to a dodgy injector that burnt out the computer a bit and therefore the computer wasn't putting out the right info for the injector to inject on que anymore.

At least, it's a theory man.

TRY ANOTHER COMPUTER BROTHER.
