I've put a reco Engine in my EF recently & forgot to get the Engine number off it before it went in... From memory there on the Exhaust side of the Engine up the back somewhere?? I think it's painted over, where exactly is it? Car is going to Vicroads to get a Exhaust defect removed tomorrow & better change Engine number..

Exhaust side at front (side of 1st cylinder).

I have an EF block here with the engine number at the front beneath plug #1.
My last EF engine had the number at the back of the block way down on the webbing to the bellhousing.
