G'day Guys my very first post.

I have scored a EA S pack from swapping my crusty Toyota Celica. I been keen ford nut for a while but mostly own XB-XC with a XB coupe beening my pride enjoy

But I like to know I have scored a 3.9 block and heads for my EA, I was thinking shaving the head down 10thou and hone out the bore 20thou and put oversize pistons in it, also thinking putting a high torque crow cam in it as well

will this give me more HP as I haven't Mod a motor before.

And what else can I do to give her more HP Put into english that a dummy like me will understand.

first what sort of celica was it.

yes doing that will be good, but you will want to got the bore bored out and then honed. depenting on the money you want to spend on it you can stroke it , port it, bigger valves, turbo, lighten stuff like crank and flywheel and get them balanced, race pistions, bigger injetors, different computer, better spark plugs, better ignition system, extractors and exhaust.

doing all that will leave you with no money but it will go fast.

Depends how long you are going to keep the car, EAs arent worth a real lot these days, and mods rarely make money back.

Just good exhaust, extractors, K&N filter and 3.45 /3.7 final drive and she'll beat most std cars at lights....Boreing and stroking doesn't do much but lighten your wallet on 6's...Yes a very mild cam around XR6 specs ....raising compression too much you'll have to retard timing to stop detonation,sp you won't make much more power that way.9.2 to 1 at most...

HAHA - Stroke an EA. Lets build an engine that wont rev and spend thousands of $ doing it!!

If your going to rebuild it you will get better results with later model heads without the swirl ridge. If you want to do that youll need to use EB-> pistons when you rebuild it to keep the compression ratio up (EA's had deeper dished pistons).

Is it a multi-point EA or CFI? If CFI get yourself a MPEFI setup asap.

Boreing won't do anything really and you can't stroke the I6. Depending on how much $$$ you want to throw at it, look at a cam (wade, crow or JMM) along with matching springs, head work and obviously exhaust. If you want to spend more, look at a turbo setup.
