Hi All
May seem like a dumbass question but anyway. I have an 89 EA 3.9 MPFI. The Leads, Cap, Rotor and Coil are the originals ( 170K ) and as I'm planning a trip I thought a bit of preventative maintenance may be in order and change the lot. ( its missing a bit at higher speed ). Can you change the coil without removing the injector rail / manifold?? Has anybody done it?? Any advice, magic spells, voodoo etc would be appreciated. Thanx |

Its an awkward job but its not all that bad.
Jack the front of the car up and support it on axle stands. Slide under the car just behind the LH front wheel. You should be able to get to the coil from there.
